The Keyhole Clasp

Universal Design

A design with universal design in mind, the Keyhole clasp was designed to improve upon necklace clasp design to make jewelry more accessible to users with limited hand mobility.

Design Brief

Design a necklace clasp usable for individuals with limited hand mobility.

Necklace clasps are small, finnicky, and hard to use. These problems are exacerbated for people with limited hand mobility/use such as amputees and individuals affected by motor impairments. These issues drive users away as difficulty might discourage people from wearing the jewelry they otherwise might enjoy.
